Two postdoctoral scholarships: Sustainable production of bioplastics from microalgae

The Department of Chemistry at Umeå University is offering scholarships for two postdoctoral fellows focusing on the sustainable production of bioplastics with the help of microalgae. The scholarship is full-time for two years with access 1 August, 2024 or by agreement.

Postdoctoral researcher in Economics: Bioenergy and its role for Swedish industry in a systems perspective

The department of Economics at Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in Economics. He or she will focus on environmental economics in general and bioenergy, the energy transition and the effects on Swedish industry, in particular. The position is based on external research funding and is full-time for two years. The position includes 20 per cent teaching and 80 per cent research based on funding via the Bio4Energy Strategic Research Environment.

PhD Student in Energy Engineering with special emphasis on evaluation of biochar for sustainable steelmaking

The Division of Energy Science at Luleå University of Technology has open position for a PhD student in Energy Engineering, who will focus on fundamental work to elucidate how pyrolysis conditions affect biochar (or biocarbon/biocoke) properties, especially in terms of its reactivity with oxidizers (e.g. O2 and CO2).
